Hello @marcelperez03 ,

Thank you for presenting your candidacy for the Non-Foundation Treasury Council.

To better understand your vision and approach, I’d like to ask you a few questions:

  1. Could you share specific contributions you’ve made to the Moonbeam ecosystem or other Web3 projects over the past two years?

  2. If elected, what would be your top three priorities to ensure the strategic and impactful use of treasury funds?

I look forward to hearing more about your ideas and vision for helping Moonbeam grow through this role.

Hello @marcelperez03 ,This is CBS here from Team AirLyft. It’s fantastic to see your proposal for the Treasury Council!

No second thought on your alignment with Moonbeam Network’s vision and your active contributions to its continued growth. However, I have a few questions to better understand your focus and initiatives within the Moonbeam ecosystem:

  1. Have you deployed any dApps on Moonbeam or collaborated with teams building on the network?
  2. Are you actively involved in Moonbeam’s governance processes? If so, have you participated in voting on specific referendums?

Lastly, I’d love to hear your thoughts on what @rom1.dot mentioned regarding the second point in your top three priorities. Looking forward to your responses!

Hi, would like to hear more about your experience with Moonbeam

Thank you for the questions and for reviewing my candidacy! I’m happy to share more about my vision for this role.

  1. Contributions to the Moonbeam ecosystem or other Web3 projects:
While I haven’t worked directly on Moonbeam projects, I’ve been actively involved as a GLMR token holder and have spent the past two years researching and staying up-to-date with the ecosystem. I’ve focused on understanding its updates, partnerships, and the potential impact of treasury decisions. My background in business and project management also gives me a strong foundation to contribute effectively.

  2. Top three priorities to ensure strategic and impactful use of treasury funds:
If elected, I would focus on:

    1. Supporting high-impact projects that bring real value and align with Moonbeam’s goals.
    2. Promoting transparency and accountability in how funds are used and reported.
    3. Prioritizing initiatives that grow the ecosystem, like developer incentives and strategic partnerships.

Hi!, thank you for your kind words and for taking the time to ask these questions!

  1. Have you deployed any dApps on Moonbeam or collaborated with teams building on the network?

I haven’t deployed any dApps or worked directly with teams building on Moonbeam. My focus has been on learning about the ecosystem, understanding how projects create value, and following Moonbeam’s updates and partnerships to stay informed.

  1. Are you actively involved in Moonbeam’s governance processes?
I’ve been closely following the governance system and decisions to understand how the process works. I’m looking forward to participating more directly in governance if I’m elected.

Thoughts on the second point in my priorities

For me, transparency and accountability are key. It’s important for the community to see how treasury funds are used and the impact they create. I would work to make sure decisions are clear and align with Moonbeam’s goals.

hey Marcel, thanks for applying for the council

i have some questions if you don’t mind:

i want to point out that in the past, most of the treasury proposals were focused on infrastructure, like funding RPC providers, tools, explorers, and wallets - so it’s not exactly about “incentives” and “partnerships”

as you probably know, if the proposal on Moonriver passes (and later on Moonbeam), 80% of the PBR inflation will be redirected to the treasury > [Proposal: MR64] Direct 80% of PBR Inflation to Treasury on Moonriver

so my questions are:

  1. do you have any experience evaluating the technical and financial needs of infrastructure providers like RPC providers, block explorers, wallets, etc? if not, how would you ensure you make informed decisions in these areas?

  2. if the treasury receives multiple proposals from RPC providers offering similar services, how would you decide which one to fund?

  3. what specific insights have you gained from your two years of focus on Moonbeam that you believe will guide your decision-making for treasury allocations?

  4. how would you approach a scenario where multiple high-priority proposals are competing for limited treasury resources? what framework or criteria would you use to evaluate which to fund?

  5. do you have experience drafting or reviewing governance proposals?

Hello! Thanks for the questions and for reviewing.

1- During my career, I’ve evaluated various projects where I applied technical principles and financial analysis to drive effective decisions. I would use this experience to assess proposals based on reliability, scalability, and their alignment with Moonbeam’s long-term goals, ensuring they meet the ecosystem’s needs.

2- I would focus on performance metrics , cost-effectiveness, and how each provider can uniquely support Moonbeam. It has to have clear differentiation and community feedback would guide the decision to best value and impact win.

3- I have gained a solid understanding of what makes Moonbeam thrive, like the balance between infrastructure and ecosystem incentives. This experience will help me prioritize projects that drive real value and growth.

4- I would prioritize based on alignment with Moonbeam’s vision, expected ROI, and urgency. Transparent criteria and community involvement would ensure the best projects move forward.

5- I’m familiar with the structure and key elements of effective governance proposals. I would ensure that proposals are well-designed, actionable, and aligned with Moonbeam’s strategic priorities to gain community support and deliver results.
