To finish up Season 5, which officially ended on 31st of March, 2025, I want to share a summary highlighting some results from the teams who submitted applications and presented their proposal to the grants committee. Our committee aimed to select projects aligned with Moonbeam’s growth and innovation, and we’re thrilled with the teams we’ve seen this season.
The results have been separated into categories and 3 different outcomes.
“Yays” indicate that the committee reached a majority vote to award a grant, supporting teams with clearly defined milestones that benefit the Moonbeam network—such as deployed smart contracts, user adoption, agreed transaction volume, and more. Successful teams typically demonstrated:
- Clear benefits to both their project and the Moonbeam network upon deployment.
- Previous success with their project or related initiatives.
- Alignment with Moonbeam’s strategic focus areas, including Gaming, Real World Assets (RWA), Cross-Chain Connectivity, and Emerging Markets.
- A well-defined vision, including future funding, monetization strategies, and growth plans.
Conversely, “Nays” were due to reasons including, but not limited to:
- Lack of clear benefit to the network.
- Promising projects needing further development.
- Insufficient market research or incomplete go-to-market strategies.
- Committee concerns regarding risk management, long-term commitment to Moonbeam, or overall project viability.
Some teams were reviewed but later retracted their application, had postponed meetings with no follow-up or communication, transitioned from Season 5 to Season 6 consideration, or had some other non-conclusive outcome. These results are labeled as “Other”.
In Season 5 there were approximately 41 applicants that made it past the screening and were sent to the committee. Of those 41, 13 were “Yay”, 17 were “Nay”, and 11 had some “Other” outcome.
Here is a high-level summary of team categories and their voting outcomes, with nice emojis provided by ChatGPT:

These figures highlight that receiving a majority vote from the committee isn’t simple, and the majority do not get approved, but it’s achievable for teams that thoroughly address application requirements, present strong plans, and demonstrate project maturity.
Most of the awarded teams are still busy building, working towards their milestones (which is a requirement for grant payments), or may even be still completing agreement paperwork. But there are a few teams that are worth mentioning because of their commitment to the ecosystem, the unique aspects of their project, or because they are just plain fun. Here are are some of them:
Grant Awardees Building on Moonbeam
If you joined the Lunar Gaming Festival last year or have been enjoying the N3mus Weekly Tournaments (if you are not, you really need to stop what you are doing right now and check them out - N3MUS Hub - Explore all tournaments), you likely encountered Voidgers/Voxel Attack Against Nouns (https://site.voidge.com/). Supported by a grant to bring Attack Against Nouns to Moonbeam, they’re crafting an exciting new world deeply integrated with the network. You won’t have to wait long to see what they’ve created.
Community leader @turrizt recently asked a few months back if teams that were initially declined a grant have ever returned to be awarded one. The hyper-focused team at Archisinal (https://www.archisinal.io/) have done just that. They came back in Season 5 with refined strategies and clear milestones, aiming to revolutionize construction processes using blockchain technology, and we look forward to them delivering on their vision.
ReFi Hub (https://www.refihub.io/), funded in an earlier season for their initial launch, is now expanding their platform focused on sustainability and climate action. They’ve put in a lot of effort to show how cross-chain contracts will enable them to attract new users and take them to the next level. It’s going to be great to see them make use of a core Moonbeam technology.
Moon Villas (Moon Villas) and @rafaelcastaneda (yes, Moonbeam’s very own governance delegate) are creating more than just a community; they’re pioneering a new value-to-earn DAO system built on their innovative, homegrown Valocracy model. The grant will be used to rapidly expand their leadership in Brazil, get more eyes on Moonbeam in the region, and help them grow beyond Brazil.
These teams showcase just some of the funding awarded in Season 5.If you are reading this and your team received a grant, and I haven’t included you, it’s not because your project isn’t worth mentioning. Every grant recipient is highly valued by the committee, and I encourage you to respond to this post, or start your own post introducing your project to the community.
Thanks to all the teams that applied, and to the community for supporting the committee by staying engaged, recommending teams to the committee, and providing feedback on how the we can improve.
Finally, a huge thank you to all community elected committee members and Moonbeam Foundation committee members involved in Season 5. Your commitment to constructive debate, diverse viewpoints, and respectful discourse has been vital. Special appreciation also goes to the foundation’s business development, community management, governance, marketing, developer relations, and leadership teams for their indispensable support, enabling committee members to focus fully on their job.
