Grant Committee Candidacy (S5) - Marin

gm everyone!
Hope you’re doing well

Please find below my application for the position of “Technical Expert” for Season 5 of the Grant Committee.

Please note that I was already elected in Season 4, so this post will repeat the main points of my previous post.

  • Name: Marin Enault
  • Timezone: CET
  • English Language Proficiency: ILR Level 4
  • Committee Position: Technical Expert
  • Qualifications:

After working as a smart-contracts freelance developer, I created the GLMR APES collection with some friends in the early days of Moonbeam.
Following this success, we continued to develop the project, adding a GLMR JUNGLE collection.
Then we created the chain’s first video game, “The Great Escape”, an arcade-inspired, old-school 2D platformer.
Thanks to these successes, we joined the Rokk3r/Moonbeam first accelerator, which enabled us to become more professional.
More recently, I contributed to the PINKDROP game, which was a huge success in the Polkadot ecosystem.
At the beginning of 2024, I graduated from the Polkadot Academy in Hong Kong.
I’m now CTO of Sao Mai Games, a web3 video game studio that creates hyper-casual experiences. There are now around ten of us working there, divided between Europe and South-East Asia.
Thanks to these various projects, I can say I’ve gained the trust of the Moonbeam community. Today, I’m the community delegate with the most GLMR delegated, and therefore an active participant in openGov on the chain.

  • Background:

As mentioned above, I’m a developer who masters both EVM and Substrate.
With over 12 years of experience, I’m also a back-end developer at ease with JS (Node) and Rust.
As for the front end, I’m a big fan of Vue.
I’ve mastered the specifications of the chain, which I’ve come to appreciate over the years, and I’m at ease with XCM and the precompiles available.

  • Code of Conduct:

I do agree with the code of conduct. I try to be as respectful as possible with everyone I interact with.

  • Experience:

I’ve been active and loyal to Moonbeam since the beginning. The various projects (GLMR APES DAO, The Great Escape, PINK) to which I contribute show my experience and commitment.
Also, over the last 6 months, I’ve been elected “technical expert” and I think I’ve taken this role seriously.

  • Motivation:

My motivation for this role is to contribute to Moonbeam’s development and growth.
I love the community, I love its tech, I love the team and the foundation.
Also, the Season 4 committee was really friendly and I enjoyed talking to them regularly.
I’m very familiar with the ecosystem of dApps present on the chain, and with my technical skills, I think I can be useful again to this committee.

  • Conflicts of Interest:

As founder of the GLMR APES DAO / The Great Escape, I would withdraw from a possible grant procedure if these projects were to apply for one.

I’m also an active member of the PINK community. As such, I would also have to withdraw from discussions for the same reasons, if this memecoin were to apply for a future grant.

These 2 projects are the only ones on which I’m active. This in no way alters my objectivity, but it’s important to make it clear here.

  • Availability:

I commit myself to be available more than 10 hours a week without any problem. For those who don’t know, I’m extremely online and reachable at any time.
