[Runtime] RT2500 schedule

UPDATED SCHEDULE

An issue has been discovered that affects both the Moonriver and Moonbeam networks.

The OpenGov Technical Committee was notified about the issue, and it has decided to address it with an accelerated rollout plan.

Runtime 2501 has been created to address the issue and ready to be dispatched via the Whitelist track. This referendum could enter the “Confirming” state with 1% support after 1 hour. 1% of MOVR token supply is ~110,000 MOVR which is a relatively high threshold to meet.

For this reason, the OpenGov Technical Committee has formally requested that the Moonbeam Foundation vote with “Abstain” with Foundation tokens in order to reach the 1% support level after 1 hour. (See Moonbeam Foundation Participation in Governance for more information on when and why the Moonbeam Foundation votes using Foundation tokens.)

The rollout of RT2501 to Moonriver would roughly follow this schedule:

  • September 28, 14:00 UTC - Deadline for Technical Committee Members to vote on whitelisting the referendum.
  • September 28, 19:00 UTC - this referendum (MR30) is available for the community and the Foundation to vote.
  • September 28, 21:00 UTC - RT2501 is live on Moonriver

The rollout of RT2501 to Moonbeam would roughly follow this schedule:

  • September 28, 17:00 UTC - Proposal to Cancel Referendum MB17 (Upgrade to RT2500) is available for the Community to Vote on the “Emergency Canceller” track
  • September 29, 18:00 UTC - Deadline for Technical Committee Members to vote on whitelisting the Moonbeam upgrade to RT2501.
  • September 29, 17:00 UTC - MB17 is Canceled.
  • September 29, 19:00 UTC - Moonbeam upgrade to RT2501 is available for the community and the Foundation to vote.
  • September 29, 21:00 UTC - RT2501 is live on Moonbeam
